The physics of baseball pitching

Why does a curve ball curve? Finger pressure. In this video, physicists take a closer look at the physics of a curve ball. Did you know a curve ball rotates 30 times a second? It also can break as much as 17 inches. This clip includes slow-motion pitching video of Barry Zito, as well as video of a couple college baseball pitchers from UC Berkley.
